Keri Buhman (née Gallagher) started her wine education in Walla Walla, Washington in 2004. She received her Associate’s degree in Viticulture and Winemaking. Her real interest was in the history and styles of wine from around the world. She traveled to Christchurch, New Zealand to attend the Sommelier program at the NZ School of Food and Wine.

Keri then took her knowledge to the islands of the Maldives and worked as Head Sommelier at a five-star resort. In 2008 she moved back to Christchurch to teach the course she had taken. While teaching the full-time course she also studied for a Diploma in Wine and Spirits from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust based out of London.

After completing the Diploma in 2011 Keri came back to her hometown of Vancouver. She opened C’est la Vie, a French café and crêperie, in Battle Ground. In 2015 she opened Soirée Supper Club and Catering in Hazel Dell. Soirée is a special events venue for monthly Sommelier dinners, wine classes, and special occasions. C’est la Vie is now located with Soirée on 78th Street in Hazel Dell.

In 2012 Keri returned to Vancouver and started C’est la Vie and the Vancouver Farmers Market. After two years at the market and two years in Battle Ground, C’est la Vie cafe found its home in Hazel Dell. In 2020 we expanded the market to include ready-to-heat meals. Keri has just completed a certificate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Keri is currently enrolled in a Nutrition Therapy Practitioner program. Please contact Keri if you have an interest in meal plans.
